In most industrial and scientific measurement applications an effort is made to use a physical principle so that the physical properties of a process result in a corresponding electric output signal which can be handled much more easily. Depending on the existing interfaces, the environment and other components, usually a voltage or current signal is desired.

The voltage signal can be amplified, scaled, filtered or linearized using analog circuity or can directly be converted to a digital value using our VI01 device. Any mathematical post-processing including scaling, linearization or calibration can be comfortably done in software which enables the user to quickly implement the desired measurement or control application.

Common Ground Signals

When all transducer signals are floating or share the common reference potential, no channel-to-channel isolation is necessary. It is recommended to ground the reference signal in order to achieve higher noise immunity of the data acquisition system.
